Soccer Season!

The kids have started soccer again.  We have been off and on each year but this year they are really loving it.  Even with freezing wind, rain and yes, even a little hail during practices the kids are giving it their all and the games are a lot of fun to watch.  Johnny even has his cousin Ethan on his team this year which makes it that much more fun for him.  Check out my picture album for a couple of pages I put together of their first games.  I also added pictures in there from skiing, Alex's piano recital and more!

Legos...and...I'm back!

I'm apprehensive to work my way back into the blogging world. It is time consuming and I feel pressured to make sure I don't leave anything off of the blog. When Alex turned 8 she started writing in her journal and she liked it if we sat next to each other and both wrote in our journals. It felt redundant for me to then write about an event on my blog as well. Especially when I could be a lot more in depth in a personal journal. Besides, there's something about writing with a pen and paper. Since then Alex and I have started writing back and forth in a shared journal. It helps us feel connected when so much is going on around us.

After her birthday and baptism we had Christmas, ski lessons, shoulder surgery & visit from my Mom, Alex's first piano recital, various holidays, and now my kids are starting soccer. I'm trying to catch up on my picture pages and when I do, I'll post them on my web album so everyone can get a glimse of what we've been up to.

For now, my shoulder is healing well and I was just able to purchase a long awaited camera upgrade. It's my new camera that has inspired me to take up blogging again. Here are the first pictures I took with it, I took a video as well but I still have lots of learning to do with the video setting when it comes to light and focus. It's of Johnny describing his lego fort. I'll see if I can upload it soon.

Johnny has been working on this masterpiece for quite some time now.  His favorite part I think are making all of his little robot guys.
When I showed him the pictures I took of him and his legos he referred to the out of focus parts of my pictures as "blurbery" instead of blury.  He watched the video I took of him 3 times and would've watched it more if I had let him.  He loves his legos!
