Monday we met Brad at the zoo after he got off work. We invested in a family pass that we can use all year. Then Alex led us on a speed tour around the zoo to see as many animals as possible on our way to the penguins. I guess we'll have plenty of opportunities to take our time seeing as though we now own our very own zoo pass. Brad is playing outdoor volleyball at the park right next to the zoo this summer so I'm sure we'll be taking advantage of it. My favorite part was their new butterfly exhibit. We walked into a tropical greenhouse with butterflies of all sizes and colors flying around us. A large blue butterfly circled Johnny many times, maybe it was because his shirt matched it's wings. Who knows, I was just dying, wishing it would land on Johnny for that perfect picture. Then one landed on Alex's head for a brief moment. I'm definitely going to have to go back with a full camera battery and lots of time.
