So a couple of weeks ago my little brother, Matt, calls me up out of the blue to ask me how long after Brad and I started dating did we start talking about marriage? Well, it was fast for us, just a few months...why are you asking??? Well he tells me he met a beautiful young lady (a month ago) and wants to take her to the temple and be with her for the rest of his life. I couldn't believe it, I had butterflies in my stomach, I was caught off guard and so excited for him. I guess he called because Brad and I did take things fast and "it worked out for us" (as he told me). I can't picture my brother holding hands with a girl let alone wanting to marry one. In my mind, he's still the scrappy little 10 year old I left behind when I moved out of the house. Boot camp, becoming a Marine MP, fighting in Iraq, none of those seemed to bring me to a realization that he has grown up since I left home. And now here I have pictures of him obviously in love and it brings tears to my eyes. I am reminded of my feelings for Brad when we were in the same state of "walking on clouds" love. Our love and friendship has grown so much since then, I'm so glad I get to spend the rest of eternity with him! Well in case you were wondering, her name is Vanessa and she's from Palm Springs, CA. Last weekend they went to conference together in Salt Lake with their branch and Matt made it official under the lights of temple square. Some day I'm going to have to come to the realization that he can be more than an Uncle, he can also be a DAD! Uh, let's not rush things. Marriage is a far enough step for now. Love ya little Bro! Congratulation Vanessa on the catch of a lifetime!
